Canadian Duathlon Championships Monday, August 6. St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. 10k/40k/5k.
With just under a few days to go, the 2001 Canadian Duathlon Championships are sure to bring out the best Canada has to offer! Come out to race & watch some of Canada's greatest athletes compete for $5000 and positions on the Canadian Duathlon Team.
You'll see such greats as Cheryl Murphy (2000 National Champion) racing against the legendary Lucy Smith (just coming off a win at the 2001 US National Duathlon Championships), and up-and-comers Samantha McGlone,Rayleen Hill, and local Carolyn Murray among others!
The Men's event has drawn local favorite Chad Kozak (10th, 2000 Duathlon World Championships) who was 2nd at last years Championship only 14 seconds behind Simon Whitfield. Nik Southwell, Mark Fewster, and Rob Grepe highlight but a few of the competitors racing for gold. The event has 6 age group qualifying spots for the 2001 ITU Duathlon World Championships held this September.
