Triathlantic Association Expands

BALTIMORE, Md, October 30, 2001 -- The Triathlantic Association, the 15 year-old, multi-sport race management organization, which is the largest and most prolific on the East Coast has increased its expansion efforts by hiring Aim Communications of Annapolis, MD, to enhance and increase overall visibility of Triathlantic events. Aim Communications will be responsible for marketing, sponsorship, and public relations for the organization.

"We have always had a desire to keep our races low key and cater to the beginning athlete and the top age group athletes in the Mid-Atlantic area", said Brad Jaeger, Director of Triathlantic, "but Aim Communications showed us a way that we can maintain that mission, while promoting the charitable work that we do, as well as making our events more attractive to media, sponsors and the professional multi-sport athlete."

Additionally, Triathlantic will be adding up to 12 new events to its 2002 roster. Triathlantic has purchased the rights to six established triathlons and duathlons in North Carolina, Virginia and New Jersey and will be adding more high profile triathlons in Cape Henlopen, Delaware, Norfolk, Virginia and another unnamed site in central New
Jersey. Duathlons will also be added in Virginia Beach, Virginia, East Rutherford, New Jersey and to end the season, a major duathlon is set for October 2002 in Annapolis, MD. Many of the new races will have prize money, and all will be non drafting events.

To assist with the management of these events, Triathlantic has hired two experienced race directors from the region. "It was important for us to hire people who were familiar with our organization and the hands-on care that we give the athletes, sponsors and
community", said Jaeger.

The tentative schedule for the 2002 Triathlantic racing season to include, triathlons, duathlons, mountain bike duathlons, road running and adventure races, will be released in early December. Check www.triath.com for more details.

For sponsorship opportunities of 2002 Triathlantic events, contact Amy Borowski at 443-254-0124 or amyborowski@yahoo.com. With sponsorship packages designed to fit any budget, Triathlantic events are an economical way for companies to gain critical exposure
with minimum investment.

That's the date of IRONMAN HAWAII!!Since duathletes don't swim it's not a conflict I suppose.

Hi Diane,
An earlier response (under prize-money duathlons in US) had mentioned "the first week in Otober" for the proposed Annapolis duathlon.
