After 30 races only seven different men have crossed the line first at a Dannon Duathlon. With 18 victories, Greg Watson has won over 50% of the races. Paul Thomas is a distant second with five victories, and all but one of those were in 1999. In 2001 Chris Tolonen and Travis Kuhl were first time Dannon winners.
The women's races have been more competitive, with a total of 18 different women claiming victory. In 2002 five different women won a race in the six event series: Andrea Ratkovic (twice), Lucy Smith, Laura Drake, Edwige Pitel, and Kristin Armstrong.

Being a triathlete, I am not very in tuned with duathlons. I am amazed that Watson wins all of the races. There are not too many triathletes that can dominate like that. I am guessing that the competition is not as stiff as tri's.
Is he the best America's got?
Any Europeans that can give this guy a run?

Watson is the best duathlete the US has. It is easier to dominate in duathlon, but Watson is consistently fast for the last several years. There are several Europeans that can challenge, but Greg is one of the best 5 or 10 duathletes in the world.
The most dominant guy is Benny Vansteelant of Belgium, who hasn't lost a race in 2 years.
