Nova Mountain Bike Duathlon Series Race #3
Sunday, November 4, 2001
Wakefield Park, Fairfax, Virginia.
2.2m run/10m bike/2.2m run

The final edition of the 2001 NOVA MTB Duathlon Series was held on a beautiful spring day, except that it was November.  The mild temperatures made for fast times over a challenging run and bike course. The race brought out plenty of first timers as well as many of the top off road duathletes throughout the East Coast.  The challenging bike course claimed over 35 participants, but all stayed for a fantastic post race party at Wakefield Park in Annandale.  Doug Perry and Kristin Eddy both won by nearly 3 minutes.

The final Triathlantic event of 2001 takes place on December 9. The Seneca Creek Biathlon takes place in Germantown, Maryland. See www.triath.com for more info.
