Canadian Simon Whitfield surprised everyone when he won Olympic Gold in Syndey. However, some of his best results came this summer as he prepared for Sydney. Whitfiled competed in five World Cup races this season finishing second at World Cup Corner Brook, fourth at World Cup Toronto, second in Rio de Janeiro and eleventh and twelfth at Kona and Ishigaki.
