The deadline for registering for Powerman Austria, the long course world championships, is fast approaching. The early deadline is June 15th, and the late entry deadline is July 15. The race takes place on August 17 & 18.
The following is from race organizer Elisabeth Hirner:
All athletes (age group and pro) are allowed to register individually. The athletes are asked to print the registration form they have filled out (online) and send it to their national federation. After the late entry deadline of July 15th we will send a complete list of registered elite and age group athletes to every concerned national federation for confirmation.
We ask the national federations to observe the July 15 deadline so that confirmations can be made in time as we have already seen that some national federations intend to decide on whom they will send not earlier than August.
Some of the reasons for choosing this mode are the following:
- we wanted to make the registration easier for the athletes
- by asking the national federations for confirmation we want to avoid problems which seem to have happened earlier
- for some organizational reasons it is also helpful for us to get the applications as soon as possible.

Should this article concern any Team USA members going to Powerman Austria? From my one prior trip to Worlds with Team USA you did not have to register individually. USAT takes care of everything having to do with registering for the race. Is this still the case? Anyone with an answer please clarify.

This is a very confusing message. This will be my time on TEAM USA, and I believe all my race entry information will be completed by USAT. If this is not the case, we need to know, what the proper procedure is. Any assistance would be great.

Any info on how to enter if you are NOT on the USA Team? Is there any other info that I need? I see the entry on the PM Austria website and it too is confusing. Where do you submit a payment for the entry fee? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The reason for posting the above message was that the registration deadline for POWERMAN Austria is June 15. Most of the already registered athletes applied individually; we received almost no application from any national federation.
We therefore recommend you to apply individually on our homepage www.powerman.at (also to avoid additional costs of EUR 15,- for late entry).
Robb: we are sorry that our website confuses you... you can start as an age group athlete at any rate (just register). Payment has to be made to the given bank account.

I am still unsure of the registration proceduce, so please clarify: I will be a member of Team USA for Powerman Austria. USA Triathlon requires a fee to be paid when you qualify for a world championship team, which I believe includes the entry fee for the World championship race. In the past they have registered all athletes for the world championships. Do I still have to register as an individual by June 15 and pay two registration fees (one to Powerman Austria and one to USAT)? Should I contact USAT to ask when they are sending the entries in? Please clarify the registration procedure. Thank you.

You still have us very confused. If we qualifed to be on TEAM USA, WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO? Are you saying you have not received any entry fee/list from USA Triathlon in regards to all TEAM USA members.
If we register on your site, do we need to pay our fee again, because USA Triathlon has already accepted our race entry fee.
THIS WAS TRUELY A VERY CONFUSING MESSAGE, and what about the dozens of other TEAM USA members who have not come accross this message yet.

I AM ALSO GOING AS PART OF TEAM USA. I SENT TIM AN EMAIL EARLY ON 13 JUNE WHEN I SAW THE MESSAGE. TIM HAS NOT RETURNED THE EMAIL YET. THIS INFO IS VERY HARD TO UNDERSATND. CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG, THE RACE ON SATURDAY IS FOR NON-QUALIFIERS AND THE RACE ON SUNDAY IS FOR THE ELITE AND AGE GROUP QUALIFIERS? IF POSSIBLE COULD EITHER ERIC, TIM OR SOMEONE FROM POWERMAN AUSTRIA CLEAR UP THIS INFORMATION.

hello to all of you!
I will try to explain the confirmation once again: if you are a member of the USAT and if you have already paid your confirmation, you won't have to pay the entry-fee twice!
if the USAT is such well organized you can make your confirmation as you did in the past.
but we have to note that we haven't received any registration from the USAT yet!!
we wanted to make the confirmation a bit easier for the athletes - and not only for the Americans - because there are a lot of National Federations, who have not confirmed their athletes although the registration deadline will be on June,15.
for your information, the time-schedule will be as follows:
Friday, 16 Aug.:
7:00 p.m. opening-ceremony in großraming
Saturday, 17 Aug.:
1:00 p.m. Powerkids Duathlon in Großraming
4:30 - 9:00 p.m. Pasta Party in Großraming
5:30 p.m. Race Briefing in Großraming
afterwards Powerkids-Party
Sunday, 18 Aug.:
6:30 - 8:30 a.m. Check-in for all athletes
9:00 a.m. Start Public Duathlon (short distance (7/38/7 ) and Relay/Team Race
1:00 p.m. Start Elite Women
1:15 p.m. Start Elite Men
1:25 p.m. Start Age-Groupers (long distance 14/76/7)
afterwards Awards Ceremony and Winner Party

I decided to register on the Powerman Austria website, but will leave it up to USA Triathlon to pay my entry fee (since they took $138 from me at Powerman Tennessee). I just hope that when USA Triathlon sends in the Team USA roster I am NOT registered twice!
