Just over two weeks remain until the US Duathlon Championships, which for the second year in a row take place at the Dannon Duathlon in Carlsbad, California. A field of 600 is expected to compete for a chance to race on Team USA for the World Championships.

The race hotel for this year's race is the Fairfield Inn by Marriot in Carlsbad. The pre-race meeting and awards ceremony will take place at the Grand Pacific Palisades Hotel and Resort, located near the course (same location as last year's award ceremony). Pre-race meetings take place on Saturday between noon and 5:30pm.

The first 10k run is hilly, with a challenging climb near the end of the run. The two-loop bike course includes several hills throughout the course. The only flat part of the course is the final 5k run.
