The US dominated the age group awards in Hawaii, winning 16 of 23 age categories, and every women's age group except 25-29.  American Jeff Cuddeback, already the record holder in the 35-39 category, broke the 40-44 course record in a time of 9:05:34.  Bob Scott broke the 70-74 age group record by a whopping 39 minutes.   On the women's side Ethel Autorino broke the 70-74 record by 34 minutes.  The longest standing age group record is held by David Stevenson in the 60-64 age group.   He went 11:23:28 in 1989.  Each of the age group winners listed below has already earned a spot for Ironman Hawaii 2001.  The following list includes name, country, time, and number of finishers in category:
