At least 40 US events in 2004 will have prize money of $3,000 or more. The Life Time Fitness Triathlon has the biggest prize purse again, with $500,000 to be awarded. Ironman Hawaii has the second biggest race with a purse of $430,000. The prize money paid out in the US will total $2.0 million.

Don't overlook Colorado's 3-race Mile High Duathlon Series. It offers over $3000 in prize money, and you don't need a pro license to collect.
