Victor Plata beat Pan Ag Games bronze medallist in Argentina on Sunday. Galindez has won this race six times, but this time his run wasn't as strong as Plata's. Plata was 40 seconds faster over the final 10k to win by 21 seconds. American Greg Remaly, who went off course during the swim, recovered for a third place finish.
Said Plata about his victory, "I am very happy about winning here in Santos. It shows that my training is on track for a solid performance in the Trials in April." Plata and Remaly are both members of US triathlon Team Kinesys.
