In a sprint Bevan Docherty beat Ivan Rana by less than a second at the World Championships on Sunday. Just a few weeks earlier Docherty won his first World Cup ever. Ivan Rana and Dimitry Gaag, the next two finishers, were World Champions in 2002 and 1999. Docherty became the first man from New Zealand to win the World Championships. The only other New Zealand World Champion was Erin Baker at the first World Championships in 1989.

The second US Olympic spot went to Andy Potts, who finished 11th.

Impressive. Potts just keeps getting better and better. I would love to see him get in a break off the swim at the games. Congrats man

Tough day, what happened to Logan??
Looks like the status quo for the ladies as well at U23. Wish I was a few months younger.
