Columbia Triathlon Ellicot City, Maryland Sunday, May 23, 2004 1.5k swim, 41km bike, 10km run Complete Results
This was the 23rd anniversary of the Columbia Triathlon and over 1200 triathletes competed on Sunday. On the men's side Peter Reid and Matt Cooke finished the bike together, but Reid was faster over the final 10k to win by nearly a minute. Amanda Pagon led throughout the women's race and won by three minutes.

Woah! Matt Cooke hung with Peter Reid? That guy is awesome. He's going to be a world champ one day.

By the way, good times on a hot day. It was a cooker out there. I had to move my beer drinking indoors. That's how hot it was.

Just to let you know. Matt outsplit Peter on the Bike 25MPH vs 24 something. Lost about a minute to Peter on the swim. Matt was in the lead on the run for a few minutes, before Peter took over.
IMO the conditions definately favored Peter, since he is used to really hot conditions (i.e. Hawaii)
At the finish, Peter looked much fresher.
