does anyone know how accurate the distances for Eagleman are? Are they correct or is this just the fastest half in world?

They're correct - ever been there??? its pancake flat - and if it isn't windy then the bike course is easily the fastest 56 mile course anywhere. the run is also pancake flat.

In answer to gmueller, no the bike course doesn't quite seem to be the full length, a lot of people measure it at closer to 55 than 56. Even the 55 mile marker was only about a minute's ride from the finish, though the mile markers aren't necessarily accurate either. The run length is correct, and with the current, which was worse for the early swimmers, the swim was effectively a little long (the results show that most of the fast male swimmers were not the pros from the first wave - only 2 pros in the top 10 overall swim times). Before the race it had been predicted that the first few waves to start would face more current.

It is not about half a mile less on the bike...c'mon people....how can you explain so many women and older age grouperes with such unbelievable fast times on the bike and on a flat packed course? DRAFTING.
though this year the waves were more spread apart but there was just almost no marshalling and so many people took advantage.
I have never been beaten by so many woman in a tri shorter than an ironman..
Not going back until I see that thay are watching the drafting

According to my cyclometer the bike course was almost a half mile short. I didn't measure the run course, however, while I was racing I wondered if the mile markers were accurate and by the finish I wondered if the run was short. I ran much faster then usual(...and no I wasn't drafting on the bike which would have made my legs a bit more fresh for the run.)
Regarding the marshalling of drafting, I saw several motorcyles out there where I was doing their job.

Congratulations to Desiree's strong second place finish at Eagleman. It's a little known fact that Desiree is an author. She co-wrote The Waterproof Triathlete last year. It contains awesome workouts.
