What's happening to Triathlantic? Events being cancelled? (Fat Tire tri and Off-Road Du) I have participated in a number of their races and felt they were well run, but noticed a number of events being disappearing. ANyone know why?

Because I am tired and fed up with the behavior of quite a few athletes. Not everyone, but enough that it no longer is fun. I spend way too much time coddling people because they refuse to take responsibility for their selves or their actions. Mind you the vast majority are wonderful caring people, but the 10% of the field that act like spoiled fools have ruined it for everyone. Anyone can respond to me directly at jaeger@erols.com

This is too bad! As a multisport athlete, I truly appreciate Brad's and Triathlantic's efforts in promoting and running events that cater to the everyday athlete. I hope that Triathlantic remembers the 90% of athletes that are greatful for their efforts and continue their contributions to multisport!

I just spent two days emailing back and forth with someone who was complaining that they couldn't get a refund or have their race entry transferred to another race because they have been sick. This is for a race in two weeks. Our refund policy is clearly spelled out. It wasn't a nice exchange either because he didn't get his way. If this was only one person, fine, but multiply that by 25 or 30 for every race.
Signing your name at the bottom of an entry blank or checking the box that says you agree to the waiver means you have entered into a legal contract. It means you read the race information and agree to abide by it.

I have been watching this back and forth regarding Triath. 1) I hope Triath continues to promote and direct races; 2) Athletes begin respecting that rules are rules and race directors have a thankless job; 3) If directing races is this much trouble then it may be time to scale back or get out. But for my two cents, Thank you Brad for your work!
