Powerman Ohio Weekend Set For May 14 & 15

Fat Rabbit Racing, the International Powerman Association, and TrueSports, Inc. are pleased to announce that the inaugural Powerman Ohio Weekend will be held at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on May 14-15, 2005. The Powerman Ohio Duathlon will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2005 and will serve as the USAT Mideast Regional Championship and as a qualifier for the International Powerman World Championship to be held in Zofingen, Switzerland in August 2005.

The Powerman Ohio weekend is an event that allows the entire family to participate from runs, inline skates, the exciting PowerKids Ohio for youth ages 9-17, to the Mid-Ohio Grand Prix Duathlon and Powerman Ohio. The weekend agenda includes:

Saturday, May 14 (all events on sports car course):
8K & 16K Runs
20K Inline Skate
PowerKids Ohio
Ages 9-11, 11-13: .5 mile run + 2.25 mile bike + .5 mile run
Ages 14-15, 16-17: 1 mile run + 4.5 mile bike + 1 mile run

Sunday, May 15:
Powerman Ohio: 8K run + 57K bike + 8K run
Mid-Ohio Grand Prix Duathlon: 4K run + 30K bike + 4K run


The opening run and part of the bike course take place on the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (www.midohio.com). The bike course features a combination of flat terrain and rolling hills on the roads surrounding the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Clear Fork Reservoir area. The 2nd run features a run over the sports car course through the infield, along the track and out on the rural road behind the track before returning and crossing over the track to finish on Championship Row!

Professional athletes can anticipate a minimum cash purse of $6,000. The Powerman Ohio weekend will also feature races by the Mid-Ohio Porsche Club www.morpca.org . In addition, several miles away at the Mansfield Speedway, the NASCAR Truck Series will be in full swing as drivers from around the United States compete for NASCAR series points.

Registration is open for Powerman Ohio, PowerKids Ohio and the weekend's events at www.powermanohio.com . Registration is open for the Mid-Ohio Grand Prix Duathlon at www.fatrabbitracing.com.
