Excellent Job! Perfect weekend. This should be a great race.
One question is who is putting up the $5,000 for the Pro race. USAT?

You doing this back-to-back with Ottawa Canadian Qualifier, or are you already qualified from last year's Nats?

Well, this may sound silly, but I have a long term plan, and I am not going to go to Worlds in Australia. I plan on racing 2005 Canadian Nationals as a Pro and making the National team for 2006. Australia is not in the budget. That being said, I think I am making the choice to do the USA Nats over the Ottawa race, because I am sure the competition will be deep there!

The posting says that the top finisher at each regional qualifier gets complimentary entry. How do you find out what the regional qualifiers are? I am excited that nationals is so close to my home. A short drive from MI. Will see you all there!

Oh ya, I like to pretend that I am still young enough to do those crazy things. I will not be able to get away until Friday June 10th after work, and will get to Mason at midnight...then up bright and early for that race!

I don't think I've done too many races I haven't drove home afterwards. I'm in the Lansing area of MI. Even though I am young I would rather not drive to and from day of. Thankfully my girlfriend supports me a lot and likes to drive.

Kirby, it wasn't made exactly clear, but what it is is that each age group winner from the 4 SC Worlds qualifiers get a free entry to Nationals. THe qualifiers are listed above, Sweet Tomatoes, Powerman Alabama, etc...

yes, and last I heard I was unapposed for the California region. In fact all but two of the regions, the person running didn't have anyone to run against from what I was told.

I don't know who is putting on the race, whoever submitted the best package I presume, but don't know if that has been decided yet.
Whoever puts it on, I am sure it will be a very well done event.

Powerman Alabama is a long course race but a short course qualifer? That doesn't make sense.

you may think of Powerman AL as long course, but it really isn't. PM AL has 10 miles of running (8km + 8km) and SC Worlds has 10 miles of running (10km + 5km). SC Worlds has 40km of cycling and PM AL has 60km, so the bike is about 12 miles longer at PM.
PM AL is one of the most competitive age group duathlons in the country so it makes sense for it to be a qualifier when there are multiple qualifiers.

huge difference between an 8k and 5k off the bike. And one kilometer is almost (not that close) a mile.

If that's the case, will all the event info (i.e. hotels) for the Dannon Race be applicable?
When will Premier come up on line to put out some info?

Is there still an elite division or is everything age group? If there are elites, how do they qualify? I notice nobody ever mentions elite qualifiers when all the qualifying info is given out.

Any word on where nationals will be this year? I think they're coming up in June? I saw Ohio on the USAT web site, but couldn't find a specific race or anything yet.

Tommy -
Check www.somersault.ca for info on the Ottawa Du. Or e-mail Andrew Armstrong at andrewarmstrong@rogers.com (he is the reace director for it). I assume you're asking about the SC World's qualifier. Tri Canada site has info on the slots available for SC Worlds and the other 2005 SC qualifiers (and 2006 for that matter), but I think there's four per age group available at Ottawa in June. No info on rolldowns.
