The Olympic Distance course record set in 2004 of 2:04+ was shattered today by Andrew Starykowicz of Long Grove, IL!! Way to go, Starky.

UCSD's Brendan O'Brien and Amanda Felder replicated Collegiate Nationals by sweeping the podium in the collegiate wave. Amanda broke the course record by 6 mins! I'm a proud president. Go UCSD!!!

Turns out the announcer was incorrect - no course record for Amanda, 6 mins off of last years race.

Terenzo Bozzone 4:04:16, this kid is only 20 years old and he breaks into the top 3 against some pretty big names in triathlon. If this guy goes long he is a sure top 5 placing at Ironman. And he has about 14 years of racing ahead of him. Hopefully he stays healthy.

Does anyone know what happened to Peter Reid (dns or dnf)?

Hey Andriy,
Peter Reid was a DNF. I think he had a problem with his bike. I saw him on the side of the road at about the 50 mile mark.

Lessing's run spilt is so far ahead of everybody else :)

What does this tell us? Simon is a great runner and swimmer. Surely it was his biking which let me down at Hawaii!

I'm very interested to see Simon v Hamish at The Escape.
