John Phillips held on to his lead by outsprinting Jeff Keil to the line at Saturday's Barkin' Dog Duathlon, the first event in the Mile High Duathlon Series. Phillips built a lead on the bike with the fastest bike split, but Jeff Keil and Michael Hagen came back to make it close at the end.

Amory Rowe, the US National Champion, finished first in the women's race ahead of Jennifer Keil. The second race in the series takes place June 11. Details are located here: http://www.racingunderground.com/milehiduseries.html
