only westerners and mostly anglo-speaking triathlete ... hardly a global event, more like the commonwealth + USA + a few token europeans.

also, this "no-drafting" rule is a complete joke with the men all riding in a staggered pack. why can't they use the UCI TT rules?

and the spread is retarded. snowsill was 2+ ahead of the next women and she is never in contention for the bonus. so it is more like a game of chance at the will of the race director as to who will get the 170k bonus.

the battle of the sexes thing is horsepucky. This "give me enough of a head start to have a chance to beat the guys" thing isn't interesting, and it's certainly flawed since a guy was won 2 (or is it 3?) years in a row.
Why not add a Rocky Balboa flavor to it handicap the age groupers also, give a schmuck like me a chance to break the tape. If nothing else, it would be funny as hell watching me get a hour head start and still get chased down.
