Colorado has long been the home to many great Ironman champions. Now Colorado will finally have it's own iron distance race. On August 26, 2001 get ready for the Colorado Iron Mountain Triathlon in Boulder, Colorado.
The race will begin with a swim at the Boulder Reservoir. The bike course will proceed north along the front range of the beautiful Rocky Mountains before returning to the Boulder Reservoir. The run course will be on both dirt and paved roads, eventually taking the Boulder Creek Path into downtown Boulder and finish at Central Park. An iron distance race consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run.
Colorado triathletes have long been outspoken about wanting this type of race and many have graciously offered their support to race director Beth Spiegel.
Applications and the race website will be available October 1. For more information contact Beth Spiegel at spiegel333@aol.com or 303-402-9004.
