The slight drizzle at 5.00am went away and cleared up the skies to a beautiful morning on race day but with high humidity and heat of around 33 degrees Celsius. Once again Powerman Malaysia lived up to its name as the hottest Powerman in the International Powerman Association series.

The 2-lap run and 2-lap cycle course gave spectators at the Majlis Perbandaran Manjung Stadium a good view of who the leaders were throughout the race. Powerman Malaysia 2008 saw a clear leader in South Africa's Jason Spong who led the entire way followed by Anthony Le Duey from France and Swiss Andy Sutz. The Asian leader was Shahrom Abdullah, Malaysia's top duathlete, followed by Neil Catiil and August Benedicto from the Philippines.

It was a clear victory for Jason who finished 4 minutes ahead of Le Duey.
