Challenge Roth
3.8K Swim, 180K Bike, 42K Run
Roth, Germany
7/18/2010

It takes quite a performance to overshadow a man's 7:52 at the Ironman distance, the 4th best time of all time. But Chrissie Wellington did just that on Sunday with an amazing 8:19:13 at Challenge Roth. This time was the fastest for a woman over the Ironman distance ever, and not by a few minutes. She obliterated the previous best time ever, also held by her. At the end of the day, Wellington's time was good enough for 7th overall.

In the men's race, Rasmus Henning put together the Ironman people have long thought him capable with a convincing win and a final time of 7:52:36. It was quite a day in Roth, Germany, to be sure and while Henning performed for the ages, he was overshadowed on the day by one Chrissie Wellington.
