Training with an arm cast Reply

I just broke my wrist cycling. Anyone have advice on how to train with a cast on, without rotting the skin underneath? Any tips on getting the cast and skin to dry after working out?

After working out, I would drive my commute with my arm out the window letting it dry.

Great question!!! I was wondering that myself! I am having wrist surgery Thursday and certainly don't want my arm to rot off. I will inquire and let you know if I find anything else helpful. Maybe a cool blow dryer?

I had a cycling accident where I broke my wrist and arm. Instead of the normal gauze that they usually wrap your arm in before they put the cast on, my dr. knowing about my need to workout, used a gor tex type pre cast wrap instead of the usual gauze. This 'wicks' water away from your skin and allows you to take a shower/exercise and everything else with your cast. It was great. and when the casts came off - no smell, no dead skin and I didn't have to stop training.
