In training for a duathlon 10K-40K-5K...
I have been only cycling as my background is in running. I have been doing
LT intervals M/W/F,
easy 1.5 Hours T/TH,
and 4.5 Hours Sunday.
Now I am going to start incorporating running intensity workouts. I would be interested to hear what everyone recommends. Should I do 1 brick, 1 bike, 1 run workout on M/W/F? or 2 Bricks a week? or concentrate one week on running and the next on cycling?
Also, what about the long ride? should I shorten it and do a long run immediately following?
My M/W/F schedule for intervals on the bike has been working great and is something where I can track my progress. I would like a similar format when incorporating running workouts.
thanks

You might want to consider plugging your key workouts into a 10 day--2 week cycle. The length of your training cycle would depend on which phase of your periodization that you are in (base, strength, or speed), your recovery cycle, and your selected A,B, and C races. Be aware that trying to "fit" all your long rides/run and high intensity bike/track workouts into a week's time will probably cause you to crash and burn very quickly.
