Du Magazine Legitamacy Reply

I'm questioning the legitmacy of the online Du magazine. There was no mention of Powerman Ohio Duathlon LC Nats prior to or after the race. I just received the latest newsletter and no mention of the race or any of the deserving winners. If the magazine that is duathlon-centric doesn't cover the LC Nats then I guess I question its value.

At least with Duathlon.com, the results were posted by the editor doing his own research and due diligence. Great job, Duathlon.com!

I would lob this out to them and allow the opportunity to redeem themselves. I agree as embassadors of the sport the oversight deserves apology and due notice.

Are you a race director or a cry baby. Your either crying about problems with other race director's event or crying because you didn't get your race covered in Du Magazine. Give them a break. Du Magazine has not published a new issue since long course nationals. They are under staffed. You should do something positive for a change, like writing an article about the race for them, instead of crying on this web site.

Is Du Magazine a function of USAT or is it an independant website? If it is part of USAT, what du you expect? The T does stand for Triathlon.

I'm crying? Read my message and then your message and tell me whose crying? The only reasoned I even mentioned anything is that I received the latest newsletter and there was nothing about the national championships. Not a big deal but making the point that for an online mag that is trying to gain legitmacy in the market place with duathletes and not even cover the Nat Championship makes you question it. It doesn't matter whether or not if I'm the RD or not... the fact is that it was the NC.

The mag is not associated with USAT

tiny, ease back bro, it seemed like a fair question.

Your comment they are understaffed seemed to imply you know what's up, so rather than kicking people in the shins... use the opportunity to bring us up to speed.

and another thing Mr Tiny, I didn't realize it was craig who initiated the post. your comment re: "do something positive" is funny in that it proves you know zip. Craig's done more for this sport in 10 minutes then you ever have/will.

do your homework before you run your mouth.

I'd like to quote Rodney King here: "Can't we all just get along?"

Shane Nelson, the guy that started and runs du magazine is always looking for contributors. i've sent him some results & written an article, as have several other of the Du2R folks. I would never knock someone that is doing something like this unless I was willing to take his place and do more. I am sure he is as disappointed as any of you regarding what he is unable to accomplish.

As he is looking for contributors, and a lot of the folks that post here seem to enjoy writing, I would encourage them to offer their services at least on an occasional basis, to Shane.
