Looking for an exciting race on a new course with the opportunity to be awarded a slot for the ’04 Escape From Alcatraz? The Great Lake Escape, an international distance TRIATHLON and DUATHLON , at Lakeside-Marblehead, OH on September 7 is the perfect race for you! If anyone knows from experience of drinking on the islands the hotels are not cheap. If anyone is interested I am looking to split a room with someone (a room with two beds)

Anon - There is a athlete discount but you need to tell them you are there for the race. After Labor day, the rates are lower, too.

i called about the discounted rate but it's still 90 for a room with two double beds. I was hoping to pay half of that since we have to fork over a lot for the entry fee(which i am not complaining about because fatrabbit puts on a great race!!!)

You might want to check the hotels in Sandusky. It is 10-15 minutes away from the peninsula.
Shoot me an email at info@fatrabbitracing.com if you have any difficulties finding Sandusky hotels.

Do I have this right, the age-groupers get prizes based on their being above room temperature and being lucky, and the pros will compete for the exercise? Talk about performance incentives!

Yes! Fat Rabbit Racing is a group of age group athletes who got together last year to provide new, unique events to Ohio and Mideast region. Our goal is to always recognize, not only the top elite athletes, but the age group athlete with outstanding prizes and awards.
