Just wondering if anyone who has obtained a slot has received an email from Troy at USAT with the info regarding Worlds?

No, nothing from USAT other than confirmation on the slot. Did get a message from Premium Plus Sports about the travel arrangements.

my experience is the same as the two above. i'm new to the sport so i may be out of line in saying there doesn't seem to be much support or coordination for this event on the part of USAT. there's a training sked on the website, but you'd never know unless you took the effort to drill down through the site. wouldn't you think troy'd promote and email the link?
also, i talked w/premium sports 2 weeks ago about purchasing an air-land package, and i've heard *nothing* from them since.
i hope the ITU's more together than these folks, or corner brook could be a v frustrating experience...

Probably did not hear much cause the Long distance World's was a week ago in Denmark, and Troy and Deepak from Premium Sports, who do a terrific job are your chaparones.People(USAT) are now getting ready for the short distance World's ,and Corner Brook is way up in the corner of Canada !!!!!No cheap or easy way to get there. Many options but they are as tough as the race will be.Hang in there, you are a duathlete ,you must get used to a lot of transitions.Be positive.

I received my email a few months ago before the long course worlds. I qualified at Desert Classic so Troy was probobly able to get the information out to me early before he became too tangled up in long course stuff. I did not receive any information on travel packages however. Also, I don't think they want to put the link on the USAT website because they don't want people who didn't qualify to sign up. Troy specifically said in the E-mail: "Be sure not to pass this link out to any other person as it is specific to Team USA and world championship sign up."

Has anyone had any luck with finding lodging in Corner Brook? Seems like everything is all booked. Does USAT ever help with arranging homestays? Anyone know where to find info about that?

General lodging information on the race site: http://www.triourworld.com/index.php/accommodations or you can contact Premium Plus Sports: http://www.premiumplus-sports.com/events/du_short_itinerary.html which is more expensive but if everything is booked, they will have rooms blocked for the team.

I find it outrageous that Premium Sports charges more than twice as much as when you book accommodations directly --- which, of course, you can't do because the rooms were blocked before people knew that they qualified.
