So are you going to race the 2008 Fox Run DU?
Let me know what made you support our cause. Was it that we donate 100% of the profits to Special Olympics Delaware? Was there another reason?
If not racing please post why not.
As a race director I can use feedback to help grow our sport/events.
Thanks to those of you that are already registered.

I'm racing it because Jay Zorn is the coolest guy around! But seriously, we all do this for the most part because it is fun. For me, I have a great time when I'm there and I'm sure that anyone who has not done this race will feel the same if they do.

Jay,
To be honest, despite having the Phila Distance Run the next day, I did the Fox Run Du last year in a shameless grab for USAT-MA Duathlon Series Points (the race wknd double-up was also a good prep for LC Worlds in Richmond).
I did see your other post that this year’s race will be part of the series but (a) I haven’t seen the full list yet, and (b) I don’t think the awards for the 2007 series were ever distributed (at least I haven’t rcvd mine).
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy racing for the sake of the competition itself – as well as pushing myself to the max, and besting personal records – but it’s still nice to have something to show the kids that all of Dad’s hard work and training paid off.
That said, I remain on the fence for the 2008 Fox Run Du. Probably not what a Race Director wants to hear but hopefully a few other DUs this summer will get the juices going again and I’ll be with you on Sept 13 (if, for nothing else, to support a very worthy cause.)
Best of luck,
Matt H.

I haven't finalized my late season races yet but had a great time last year and will probably be back again this year.

Hi! I am new to this website, and I was debating on trying this one for my first duathlon ever. I am not sure how it will go, but I decided to do this one for my first one, because first it is the closest one to where I live in Maryland, and I love Special Olympics, and I wanted a new challenge. I run marathons, and have recently decided to no longer do long runs, but 10 mile runs. And now, I want to try a duathlon. I have a road bike, but with my running routine, I have rode my bike once since the fall! I have done Bike to the Bay for a couple years, and can adjust. I was looking though, last year I saw it was a 1.8 mile run, 18.6 mile bike I think and a 3 mile run? Is it really a 3.1 run, 20 mile bike, and 3.1 run this year? I am up for the challenge, and just hope I can do it!

Jay,
Did you ever have any luck tracking down an answer on the distribution of last year's Mid-Atlantic Series awards?
BTW, I signed up yesterday for this year's Fox Run Du. (Racing a couple of DUs this month DID get the juices flowing again.)
See you in September,
Matt

Matt -
Glad to have you at the race....at this time I have not heard from USAT-MA and it is unlcear if there is a 2008 series. Fox Run DU agreed to be a part of it since we want to support all efforts to improve the sport. If I hear back about this year or last year I will post to the site.
