Is it me or is there some strange information going around on the scduRimini Yahoo group claiming that ITU rules are "drop bars only" or "no bar end shifters" for SC Du World's? Someone else said its an "Italy only rule..." I know Rimini has had worlds before (haven't been yet) so I imagine a few folks here would know if any of this were true.. Josh?? Anyone??
Last time I checked the JUNIORS can't use bar end shifters but there is no rule requiring drop bars or forbidding bar ends at any age group ITU Worlds event, tri or du, right???
I'm sure the posters are trying to be helpful, but does
anyone have some insight into what they're talking about?
Peace and happy 4th all,
LB

I just answered my own question. Interestingly, there are new 2008 ITU rules, here's the link to the PDF:
http://www.triathlon.org/docs/competition-rules-20080601-vf.pdf?ts=1215103927
And the handlebar issue was the fact that the Draft Legal ITU du's follow UCI road race rules, while Draft Illegal races follow UCI time trial rules.

I have a list of 15 questions no one seems to be able to answer, you are not alone. Either everyone else is not computer savvy or they just haven't started to think about the race yet....
The Team USA manager for Du Worlds is a new employee and I feel kind of bad for him/her because it would be tough to have that job while knowing so little about the event.

Can you share your questions with us? Should I have seen them on the Rimini Yahoo group?
