Road vs Tri-Bike for Shrt Du's? Reply
by FAL7 on August 11, 2002 Mail this to a friend!
Just got a Merlin Agilis and rode it for the first time at a Crit Style course our local club has laid out. Got me thinking about using a bike like this for short course (under 10 mile bike)duathlons we have here. Also seeing more of the F1 style du's that are typically short bike sections as well.

I have a Soft Ride set up for TT and long bike courses.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I think I remember reading an article way back a couple of years ago, where some aerodynamics guru found that it was more advantages to be more aero during short events. But I don't know. Maybe since short races are usually at a higher intensity, you should use a bike that you can get out out the saddle quickly and corner well with.
