Training Balance Reply
by samba on August 8, 2010 Mail this to a friend!
Hello every one I am at the moment training for my first half marathon in october.
I am following a runnersworld training program which for example this week will be

mon 2 mile
tues rest or x train
wens long run 8 mile
thurs x train or rest
fri 5 or 6 mile
sat x train or rest
sun 4 mile

My problem is I love to cycle and at the moment i can do 10 to 15 miles on the flat fine so I have started to do 10 or more on the hill etc.
I have been doing the cycling on my rest days and having one day a week off. But I am basically running out of steam.
Has any one got any better ideas to balance the two with out harming the running. I really want to improve on the cycling as well though so I can do longish rides of 40-50 miles
Once I have the half marathon out the way and in the bag then there wont be so much preasure on the running.
Then the big plan is duathlons. I am 41 and started running about 16 months ago if that matters :)

thanks for any advice
