Better yet, anyone what happened to Jim Snyder. Here is an athlete with great potential but seems funding has been low recently, he even stooped so low as to race in the BIG man division eventhough he hasn't ever been north of 200 lbs. Can someone help me solve this mystery?

Dear Cylde,

Recently, I was able to track down the elusion one Jim “Big City” Schneider once I agreed to pick up his bar tab at one of his fav watering holes and wing joints, Blondies (79th and Amsterdam – NYC)

Jim confirmed that he was a post 911 umemployment victim and is still looking for that six figure income he "claimed" he once had. “The last year has been pretty tough money wise which of course cut right into my racing budget. I haven’t really raced since St Croix 2001 so it has been a long year.” Money was scarcer then a open bar stool on St. Patricks Day. But my sponsors (friends and family) have been real cool during this past year.” BC claims the potential is still there but the disposable income is still a little low. “Buying that new wetsuit isn’t as important as paying the rent on time.”

Big City also addressed his recent entrée to the Clydesdale ranks – something that is not totally new to the human chicken wing. “12 years ago I was a solid 215 and raced my first ever race, The Cleveland Rovers Rugby Club Runaround in 1990 for a 3rd place finish.

After that I fell into a leg modeling career that saw my legs in most of the major biking mail order catalogs. I had to really stay bone thin and it sucked. I think I was something like 175 back then”

Anyway, I was in southern California in June of this year trying to track down the best body in women’s triathlon Jessi Stensland, while working for a medical company in Laguna. I jumped on the scale one day to find out I was 201.5. So I decided to enter the Duathlon Nationals race. For all those people that think I wasn’t over 200 can look up the race pictures and check out my gut. I didn’t have man tits like Pro golfer Phil Mickleson, but I was a little beefy. Jim has since dropped down to 187 and looks no where near 200.

I can say that during our talk he downed 20 wings and 4 Red Stripes. If this is his diet to slim down, then I would hate to see his diet when he is bulking up. I am looking forward to doing a full year of Cyldesdale races in 2003 – I am really looking forward to bumping heads with some of the old guard – like that clown Kevin Kelly and Erik Cagnina . With that Jim was out the door saying something about taking an afternoon Siesta in the Park.

Kiwi-
Not only does the guy train with Elvis, he also races with him. If I can dig one out in the next day, I will send along a photo op of BC with the King at one of the well attended Turkey Trot 5-milers of the last three years.

And yes, the story IS real.
If you think that one is bad, you should ask him about his escapades on the streets of NYC with the russian hooker!

This guy was a prime supporter of one string of messages posted a couple years ago (possibly by The Moist One) that envisioned a sort of "love connection" of multisport athletes wanting to hook up whilst away at races.
