Description: Presenting the Trident: a fully aerodynamic, featherweight missile. Its fluid carbon fiber form is styled around contemporary triathlon geometry and slick airfoils. Steep angles forge the framework for an efficient speed machine, while peerless performance is generated from an exceedingly stiff, yet remarkably compliant structure that yields a responsive, potent platform for competition. Handmade and fully guaranteed for life, the Trident is a super sonic sculpture that's a real podium performer.
The most comfortable, stiffest, best looking (Red to Weave Pro Stock with Yellow decals) fastest bike out there. I've owned 2 Blades (2000 and 2002), 2 Vulcans, Softride R1, KM40 and a P3. They're all gone and now I've even bought their Victory road bike and a beautiful 3 color Swift for my wife. I'm a believer!
Aegis does excellent work with Carbon Fiber. The frame is lightweight, and has some aerodynamic advantages, and rides well. The headtube is not too short, so the position is easier to obtain without a lot of headset spacers. For all around courses and conditions, especially rough roads and steep hills, this frame is well designed.
Forget about riding aluminum or steel bikes. Carbon is where it is at. The Trident has a great geometry and you will appreciate the ride of a carbon bike on long training rides or on any ride with poor pavement. They aren't mass produced like Trek or Kestrel and you can really have them do cool colors for your team or for yourself. I highly recommend the special bionic weave layup which makes the bike even stiffer! Check out their website at: http:www.aegisbicycles.com
I've had a variety of excellent racing bikes over the years- Colnago, Litespeed, Kestrel, Softride- but the Trident is, in my opinion, the best overall multisport frame available. It's comfortable, very stiff in the BB, aerodynamic and handles well in challenging descents. Could not ask for more!
